Empowering Communities to be Free From Sexual Violence through Community Education

Saffron Centre’s Education team provides comprehensive teaching to end sexual violence in our schools, workplaces, and communities.

Prevention education on sexual violence, including sexual assault, sexual abuse, and harassment, can lead to impactful change in our communities. We provide presentations and training sessions for school-aged children and adults that cover a wide variety of topics. From teaching children how to express their boundaries and understand consent to helping adults know what to say if a colleague or family member discloses sexual violence to them, we are here to put an end to sexual violence in our communities.

Who is Saffron Centre’s Educational Programming for?

Saffron’s Education Program is designed for people of all ages. We deliver presentations to children as young as four years old. You’re never too old to learn how to identify harassment, understand consent, and respond to online exploitation and other situations of sexual violence.

Saffron has a variety of presentations for school-aged children that can be delivered in classrooms, at community centres, in churches and places of worship, and for groups such as youth community groups or sports teams. Our caregiver training helps parents and children speak the same language about consent and sexual violence, while professional training is ideal for businesses, non-profits, school administrators, and other professionals looking to grow their understanding of sexual violence prevention and sharpen their skills.

Presentations

Community education is available to schools, community groups, sports teams, and others. Each program meets a variety of Alberta’s K-12 Health and Life Skills Curriculum outcomes.

Designed for younger audiences and presented in a storybook format, these presentations help young children understand and communicate boundaries within their friendships.
