Seeds of Healing
Effective January 1, 2019, the Seeds of Healing Counselling Program has a limit of 20 sessions per client. Additionally, we offer 3-5 sessions of counselling for support persons.
No referral is needed to access our services, you are able to refer yourself.
Our counselling services are provided on a sliding fee scale based on your income and workplace health care benefits.
SAFFRON Centre provides therapeutic one-to-one and group services to victims of trauma, abuse, and sexual violence. We use various types of modalities to meet the needs of our clients.
At SAFFRON, we have various types of group therapy. There are many benefits to group therapy, such as helping members find their voice, allowing members to take turns giving and receiving support, and helping to reduce isolation and improve confidence.
Art therapy involves the use of creative techniques to help clients express themselves artistically and examine the psychological and emotional undertones in their art.
Using Play therapy, a child is able to express or “play out” their feelings and problems just as an adult does in talk therapy.
How to Begin Accessing Our Services:
When you are ready, you can call our office at 780-449-0900 to begin our two part intake process.
Your initial phone call will take approximately 10-15 minutes. We will ask for your basic contact information and to confirm that you are seeking support for a sexual violence related incident(s). Once we have all of the necessary information, we will schedule your second intake with our intake worker.
The second part of our intake process is a 45-60 minute phone conversation. Our intake worker will call you at the time of your scheduled intake appointment. In this conversation you will be asked a series of questions that will help us to gain a better understanding of your individual needs. This will allow us to pair you with the appropriate therapist. Afterwards, you will be placed on our waitlist. Once a therapist is available, we will contact you and schedule your first appointment.
Once you have seen your therapist for the first time, you are then able to contact us to book your appointments.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have regarding this process.
